I have 2 now!! Hehehehehe!! Ü

Majority of the people regard Christmas as the most wonderful time of the year. I agree with that. Next to the "wonderfulness" of a year is SUMMER! Yeah. I know that summer's coming to an end yet I can still feel the whole summer spirit all over me. It comes to a point that I become slightly depressed whenever it rains because it marks the "goodbye summer hello rainy season spirit". Some people prefer rainy season over summer because of the "cool" benefits from the coldness brought about by the rain yet it also gives a melancholy atmosphere. Imagine the cold floundering into poor people's homes. Homeless beggars have to feel tinges of cold from needle-like raindrops.

Currently, I'm all tanned up. I had a grand time at the beach! We savoured every moment we spent there. In the morning of May 11, 2005 I got up from bed as fast as lightning and immediately prepared myself for one of the best outings ever with my friends. I met up with Chio and Gli at BF Starbucks (the usual meeting place) then headed straight on an awesome roadtrip. We went as far seeing white fat slash thin cows, white weeds scattered throughout a ricefield, and getting to Quezon province. Lol! "Alae! Kape kape talaga!" I would say the Batangenos are hospitable like any other Filipino. In the Philippines, you don't need a map, you just need you tongue. Amazing it is. Being able to ask reliable directions from strangers because Filipinos love staying on the streets. With that, I don't know why. Like when I was in Japan, it was a rare sight to see people standing on a curb you can easily approach and ask directions from. They all rely on a map. My foster family has a digital navigation system on their car; a small tv monitor showing what avenue, city, place we were in. Cool, right?=D

Anyways, we arrived the resort after 2.5 hours of roadtrip. The van climbed a couple of hills and voila! Before we knew it,our feet were touching the pebble-like sand while we getting awed by the beautiful waters at the same time. The beach wasn't murky. It's as good as the ones in Cebu. You could seee the corals beds and rainbow fish from the shore. Oh yeah! Paradise it is. Ü The first thing I did was to hop on my swimsuit and run as fast as I could to the cool-warm water of the beach. It was definitely heaven! I attached my neon yellow snorkling gear and life vest. The fish were so colorful, cute, delightful, beautiful!! Ü

....continuation @ my livejournal....

Meine Camp und JRP Leben ÜÜ

Spending the whole week since Monday at EXITE, a Science/Technology camp in Nasugbu, Batangas made me capture wonderful memories with newfound friends and discovering non-boring science activities/experiments. When the word camp comes to mind, noise is always in the picture. We had to "minimize" our noise since we were inside the gates of Don Bosco retreat center. Serenity, Awe and Nature are few words out of a million to describe the place. From our dorm, a delightful scenery of sprawling mountains and calm seas are comparable to priceless Amorsolo paintings of sceneries. The best part of all was bonding and sharing joy with 30 student-scholars from Pangasinan, Bulacan and Batangas. Ü

Last Monday was orientation day. I was tasked to deliver a 5-minute speech about my past EXITE experience in 2003. Afterwards, we engaged in team-building games where we really got to know each other. Last Tuesday, we had an "Amazing Race" challenge. I enjoyed the Nature Scavenger Hunt most. We circled around the whole compound searching for items that matched the given descriptions on the card such as Round and Soft, From an Animal, etc. Yesterday, we went to Leisure Farms, a very high-end community slash farm. They have greenhouses literally costing 2.8 million bucks housing giant tomatoes, peas, etc. I had a great time picking orange/red tomatoes! Lol! In the afternoon, we went to Central Azucarera Don Pedro. I never knew how hard it was to produce SUGAR before I saw it right before my eyes. We went to a warehouse where we got surprised when a 50-feet brown sugar mountain welcomed us. We enjoyed playing with cumbersome stones of sugar. It's one thing you'll never imagine. When we got to the sugar factory I realized it was way behind Willy Wonka's concept of a factory. I'm not referring to the none-perky oompalumpas yet the factory was really really steaming hot. I felt I was inside 10 saunas. The whole place was steaming hot and there were several turbo fans. The factory was noisy too. The engines were as tall as normal-sized houses all generated by Siemens computers. We also saw some men carrying 50 kg sacks of sugar on top of their heads to transport it to the truck which gives them an income of 1 peso per sack. Later in the evening, we went to Chateau Royal. The place was Asian inspired. I really wanted to jump to the beautiful pool yet I wasn't feeling well due to my colds and cough. I was a little feverish too. When I woke up earlier this morning, I I felt so weak and feverish. I decided to leave camp because of my fever. Tomorrow is graduation day. Since I'm feeling well now, I'll be able to attend it most likely.

***************************
Despite my fever earlier, today is one of my luckiest and happiest days after receiving a call from John Robert Powers that I PASSED THE AUDITIONS FOR HOSTING and RAMP which was held last Saturday!!!!!! Ü I really thought that I wouldn't make it for RAMP since the judge asked me to make 2 catwalks. Nervousness and anticipation was on my mind after the ramp audition. When I stepped into the HOSTING room, I was given a role of a veejay. It was extemporaneous so I just blurted out the words coming out of my mind. I introduced Spongecola's Crazy For You. I consider it as one lucky song. After my 2- minute veejay role, the judge and videoman clapped and exclaimed two of the words I've been wanting to hear, "Very Good"!Ü

Either June 11/June 18 will be one of my biggest days if ever I decide to pursue this opportunity. As part of the commitment, I'll be showcasing my HOSTING and RAMP skills in a show at the same time impress top modelling agencies who'll be selecting talents. I'm still thinking twice if I should or should not join the show because of the tight schedule that covers half of May and a couple of days from June. At this point, I'm still undecided yet I'm satisfied and happy enough that I passed HOSTING and RAMP even if I didn't push too hard for it. Ü GOD IS SO GOOD!! ÜÜ

(April 29, 2005)
Long time no blog since my cake blog. I'm currently busy with my summer workshop at John Robert Powers where I'm taking my pre-graduating classes. It happens to be that Cogie Domingo is one of my my clasmates in Runway and Acting. Last week, we spent 2 hours a day rehearsing and polishing our catwalk. I'm so glad that I successfuly finished my runway course last Wednesday. I used to think that only special people with hard-to-reach talents can surpass such thing. I realized that it's all in the mind. Just be yourself and think that you can do anything you want to do. Apparently, our final runway class was recorded on video. The first portion was casual wear, I wore a pink top with jeans. The second was haute couture (high fashion), I wore a peach cocktail dress. Last but not the least was fantasy couture. My apple-green sequin-studded Red Cross gown was the only Filipinana around so I had to do some extra posing since Mr. Oscar, our superb runway teacher highlighted the "magic" behind the Filipiniana. He stressed out how elaborate and detailed a Filipiniana is so I had to showcase it more. It turned to be a great success. I never tripped yet I almost slipped. Lol! =D

Yesterday, Advanced Acting started. The first exercise was to create distorted faces. I was laughing all through out 'coz we looked like freaks. Then we had to distort our bodies and faces simultaneously. It was fun. Our next activity was to make a people abstract with my classmates. There were 10 of us so we literally stretched our limbs, etc. to come up with a fascinating abstract which would impress our teached. Then we had the Yes/No activity wherein 2 of us were given a choice to pick yes or no then deliver it in different moods and characters. I picked no. I had to transform my character, voice and actions everytime I had to say no. Our last and final activity for the day was to transform into an insane mental patient. I chose to be Sisa. Hahaha. It's one experience I'll never forget. The VP room mortified into a so-called isolated room at the Mental hospital. I think we sort of scared off the kids watching our class. We were laughing, screaming, running like hell. It's so hard to act yet we had to fit into that character and believe in it.

A Slice of Cake Ü

Ever wonder why celebrations never come complete without CAKE? I've never attended a birthday party without catching the celebrator blowing candles and eating a slice of his/her birthday cake. In wedding receptions, the slicing-of-cake moment is such a big fuzz. It's the time when the bride and groom sweetly slice their wedding cake together and take a succulent bite afterwards. Cakes are obviously sugar-filled, made of icing and flour. Cakes come in different sizes, flavors and colors. Cakes can also cost a fortune. A sight of a cake is equivalent to a scene of a celebration.

To go directly to my point, CAKE has a huge connection with today's entry since I have a valid reason to celebrate. My UNCLE has been appointed Head (Little Mayor) of Global City and C5! Ü In other words, he will rule over Market! Market, The Fort,Speed Zone, Fort Bonifacio, Concert grounds and so many more. He's the first man ever in history to handle such position. Soon, he'll be making rounds around Global City making legislations, promoting Global City and the like.

On my side, ruling over a city is one of my dreams. This has been partially granted since I'm very close to this Uncle of mine. I hope that he'll consider me to be the "little voice" behind him. As far as I know,I can voice out anything to him anytime. Ü Practically, when I get exposed to his work and get a view of what he really does, it calls to be a "preparation" or stepping stone for my future plans of being a POLITICIAN.. Ü

Life is really good! Ü So here's a slice of cake for everyone! I'm not pointing out to “dreams” which occur in our sleep like nightmares and the like. I'm pointing to DREAMS that make us what we want to become. DREAMS we set our goals upon. DREAMS that need a 101% full use of our IMAGINATION.

Whether you dream of something preposterous such as saving the world by possessing Super Man's powers, bringing Jose Rizal back to life and telling him how Noli transformed your paradigm of the Church because of Padre Salvi and Padre Damaso, painting and drawing with Leonardo da Vinci, giving Albert Einstein a "queer eye for the strait guy" type of makeover, breaking a telescope in front of Galileo's face, having an afternoon cup of tea with Coco Chanel, running across the Great Wall of China without getting exhausted, learning hundreds of foreign languages at the same time, getting into Harvard without studying, chewing the most expensive chocolate that ever existed, shopping in France without the hassle of having to pay, exceeding Imelda's shoe collection a million times more. These are some "dream on", extreme-type of dreams. Obviously, there are dreams that can be possibly achieved yet would take a whole bunch of perseverance, patience and discipline. Some of these dreams are becoming a successful lawyer, taking oath as the President of the Philippines, graduating summa cum laude in Harvard and so many more.

No one has the right or power to neither deprive us of our dreams nor take away our dreams from us. We can dream as much as we want to. We may dream as much as we can. Dreaming is such a limitless spectacle. In this competitive, "survival-of-the-fittest" world, there are times when we drown ourselves to "head-achers". This leads us to the burden of neglecting the “possitiveness”, optimism, hope and bountiful fruits of what OUR DREAMS can produce.

Everyone DREAMS to be something. That something can never be achieved without dreaming or planning of being that something. "I want to be something in the future, not some thing but something"… "If I were some thing or 2, then what am I?"… "If I were to be that something, would I be satisfied and succeed in it?" Sometimes, we just freeze our minds and neglect the capacity to think of what more we can ever think about. Dreaming is what defrosts our frozen minds. It sets a steady pace. It becomes an inspiration and broadens our perspective on our lives and the like.

Back when I was a little child, I was too obsessed of becoming a doctor. Knowing me, I was a bandit way back then. I used to tiptoe to the freezer and dissect on those poor, little fishies using my bare hands with a sharp, handy knife. I enjoyed slicing through their abdomens and slowly pulling out their organs like their gills, lungs, liver, and intestines. I was so engrossed and amazed until my Yaya spots me and tells me how "langsa" my hands would be. "Sorry Yaya! I want to be a doctor kasi eh.. I just experimented on the fish.. Let's cook them nalang later." Then my Yaya says, "Ok! We will cook them nalang. Bad girl ka! Just go wash your hands! How kulit talaga you are, oh!"

In addition of my doctor-doctor fantasies, I never missed a single episode of "Rescue 911". Whenever I heard the "Rescue 911" jingle, I dropped everything and gave my full attention to the TV and absorbed the images flashed in front of my eyes. I loved the scenes where a victim dials 911, begs to the operator, crying out "Help me!!” I also liked the scenes where paramedics rush to the victim's place, carrying with them a stretcher, toolbox, oxygen tanks, etc. "Amazing! I want to be like them when I grow up!", I said to myself.

At present, I am not that "little child" anymore. I gained more knowledge and maturity throughout the years. How fast really time flies. It was like yesterday when I was so obsessed with dissecting fish and watching Rescue 911. Every time I recall those memories, I just laugh at them, thinking how crazy I was. LOL! =D But you see, because of my DREAM of becoming a doctor, I motivated myself to do those unusual things no matter how weird they were. Dreams can also produce weird actions, don't they?

Life is full of changes. Yesterday, I wanted to become a doctor. TODAY, I DREAM of becoming a LAWYER! With all the dreams on my mind, this dream of becoming a LAWYER is in the TOP 5. To achieve this dream, I need my maximum discipline, study skills, courage, most importantly, strength from God. I DREAM that someday, the title of Attorney would be added to my name and have the authority and powers of law vested in me… Attorney Trisha…Ü Hurray! It's one BIG DREAM that'll surely make me more of what I am today. ÜÜ

If you have time, I made a quiz about me.. kindly take it @
http://www.quizyourfriends.com/yourquiz.php?quizname=050410105534-120275 Ü

Tagaytay!

I loved the Tagaytay trip! Ü

As I entered the Sophomore C classroom for the first time ever, I was shocked to see flood all over. I excitedly approached my close friends quickly. "Alfredo! You gained so much weight! What happened to you?", those were the first words I told Alfredo after 2 months without seeing him. "Karen! Seatmates tayo ha!", this was the line I kept on repeating over and over to Karen.. Ü I remember sitting next to Alfredo and Karen. We were clueless on what to expect before Ms. Rogador came. When I saw her for the first time, I never thought that she would be the one who would bring me this close to God. Honestly, I learned more about God and I became more aware of Him. This is due to Ms. Rogador's heartwarming reflections and speeches.

A few weeks later, piles of homeworks, projects, quizzes, long tests, op's and recitations speedily came our way. Well, this is what you really get for being a Sophomore student. We are really obliged to STUDY HARD and also to HAVE FUN HARDER. Being a Sophomore is more than being a study-centered student. I will prove this to you as I recap the wonderful memories I had in my FANTASTIC SOPHOMORE year..

1. Jumping Castle!

ZOBEL TURNS 26. This week was filled with fun and delightment. Our CLASS won in the Highschool Modern Dance!!! Congrats to the people who worked wholeheartedly for the victory! =p Our fair officially started last Wednesday. Gliza must be extremely proud seeing the whole school wearing her fairshirt design! =p Last Wednesday, we had a Highschool Quiz Bee where the contestants were chosen at random. Mariel and Alan represented were the "lucky" ones! Right after the Quiz Bee, I had lunch with Alfreed, Karen, Herm and Steven.

Elaine and I decided to try the Super Slide! At first I had a treacherous time climbing but I easily figured out the technique. We simultaneously! After 2 rounds, we felt dizzy.. ;p

Yesterday, Alfred, Karen and I tried the Super Slide again! It was such a sight seeing Alfred going dizzy! Heheheheheheheheheheh! I left the campus at 1:00 pm to go to Makati to see my Doctor. He checked my Tuberculin skin test. The result was NEGATIVE (meaning: i never had contact to anyone w/ tb). From Makati, I rushed to Asian Hospital to get my Medical Certificate. From Asian, I went to GYM 1 to cheer for our class. They danced gracefully and I would say they were 99.9% close to perfection. =) Our class' meticulous rehearsals and sacrifices paid off when they were proclaimed CHAMPIONS! =) Yahoo!!! =)

Today is JACKIE'S 16TH BIRTHDAY!!! =) I was in Quezon city the whole morning because I had to deliver my forms and certificates to YFU for my Japan exchange program this January. From the office, we went to Dapitan (a place where country home-handicrafts-people shop). Would you believe that I bought a star-designed box for 40 pHp, pastel-colored container for 20 pHp, seal figurine for 20 pHp and country home stand for 20 pHp?!?!?! =) What a bargain! The items at Dapitan are export overruns from various handicrafts stores in our country. Most of the items I got must be 10x the price if you get it from bazars.

From Dapitan, I went to Zobel. I watched the Talumpatian with Karen, Alfred, Herm and Steph. The girl-in-pink won! Wow! Right after the contest, I quickly purchased a QUICKLY TARO ICE with PEARLS shake! Yum!

Right after the Orchestra recital, Jackie treated Karen, Sarah, Elaine, Steven and I to the Jumping Castle!!! =) We brought back the days when we used to jump up and down without thinking of the impressions other people had on us. We acted as if we were in Grade 1 or 2! We had so much FUN!!!!!! Steven and Karen accidentally slipped on one side of the Castle! =p We were bouncing and jumping and jumping and bouncing until we felt way tooooo dizzzzzzy! =)

We finally decided to watch the Battle of the Bands. I would say that our batchmates performed as if they were REAL rockstars. My favorite band is the all-girl band from the juniors. The vocalist sung her heart out. We really felt her passion for singing. =p

FLYING TO JAPAN. I was chosen among 4 others to represent our country for the upcoming 2005 short program of Youth For Understanding in Tokyo from January 20-Febuary 15. I'm really excited! =p I will be staying at the Tokyo Olympic Center for the 1st week then spend 2 weeks with a Japanse family. As early as now, I am trying to brush up my Japanese. Hai! Arigato! =p

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://trishopping.blogspot.com/2004/11/super-slide-jumping-castle.html' title='Super Slide! Ü

TODAY. Rambutan. A red, spiky fruit containing a chewy, lucious thingie attached to a large seed. Rambutan, Rambutan, Rambutan. I would describe this day as an ADVENTURE-FILLED DAY! I spent the whole day at Julian's house... I mean mansion. Chio, Gliza, Rodney, Bea, Isaw, Jackie, Binky, Johann, Mark, JV and I were welcomed by Julian. Chio and I arrived at Julian's house at around 10:00 am. As I entered the den, an infinity pool caught my attention. Due to my curiosity, Rodney gave me a TOUR of Julian's house. The house was like a RESORT HOTEL. I was tempted to play some piano pieces on Julian’s Baby Grand. At Lunchtime, we ate fried chicken and sinigang na ribs. Right after eating, we sang a couple of songs using the magic mic.

After singing, Chio, Jackie and I set for a once-in-a-life time adventure. An adventure that you don't get to experience from school. An adventure meant for curious cats like us! Did you know that Ate Shawie aka Sharon Cuneta aka Mega Star and Julian live in the same village? Due to our adventure-filled mentality, we decided to walk to Rambutan St. where Ate Shawie's house is located. We thought that RAMBUTAN St. would just pop out in front of us. We were wrong. At first, we went down a couple of hills to take a quick look of the reservoir. As we were walking down slowly and surely, we were chanting “Tabi-tabi po” repeatedly to respect the elementals/unseen beings most likely to reside within that place. Aside from the elementals, we took precautionary measures on Snakes and Spiders. Luckily, we didn’t encounter any of those scary creatures. As we reached the reservoir, we saw a couple of tadpoles, tilapias and coys. We went around the reservoir thinking that Rambutan St. was just near us. After touring the whole reservoir, we walked down a couple of streets searching for Rambutan St. We literally depended on the tracks our feet led us to. We kept on walking without realizing spending more than 30+ minutes searching for Rambutan St. Chio decided to take a quick break at a mini-park. We tried contacting our friends but none of them attended to their phones. We were lost! Ü We didn’t lose hope like St. Joseph of Copertino. When we decided to find our way back, coincidentally, we saw Kuya Frank!! We ran to him and got on Chio’s car. “Kuya Frank, hanapin natin ang Rambutan St. Kaninang kanina pa naming hinahanap.” I said. Kuya Frank complied and circled the whole village. We never gave up. After asking a reliable someone on where Rambutan St. was, we finally got there! You would just imagine the glee we had when we saw Sharon’s house right in front of our eyes. Going back to Manila, Rodney and I hitched with Chio. We were laughing, cracking jokes, etc. for the whole duration of our ride back home. ÜÜ

When I reached my house, 5 love birds and a tiny bunny welcomed me. Joy! My siblings really want to transform our house to a zoo! Joy! Ü

YESTERDAY. Alfred, Mark and I went to Chio's house for a STUDY group. Right after breakfast, we recorded our "talented" singing voices. We watched Bridget Jone's Diary... a very beautiful movie.. Alfred enjoyed it a lot!! Hehehehehhehe. Right after finishing the movie, we had lunch. I ate nilagang ribs and Chio's cornedbeef-spaghetti (yum!) I successfully finished my Trig homework c/o Alfred! Hehehehe.. thanx! Joy!ÜÜ I did my Alg, English and a lot more! Finally, I brought Alfred to his house in Quiapo.. Joke! ÜÜ

THE DAY BEFORE YESTERDAY. From Tagaytay, we went to NAIC, Cavite, my Lolo's hometown. We visited the grave of our great grandparents. While I was touring the cemetery, I saw a group of American missionaries. I had a little chat with one of them. It was fun conversing with whoever-he-was because he seemed to have mastered FILIPINO. He even had "Talaga!" in his vocabulary. He was impressed with my English. According to him he's been here in the Philippines since last year. He finds it a wonderful country. Ü I wanted to ask him if he was Bush or Kerry but the number one rule in communicating is that you should avoid discussing political issues with newfound friends. Joy! Ü Sayang! Ü Hehehehehehe...

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://trishopping.blogspot.com/2004/11/truth-behind-rambutan.html' title='The Truth behind RAMBUTAN.. At first I was nervous to walk solo infront of 200++ people. I don't know how I was able to deal with it. I wore a lengthy, apple-green, seqiun-studded Terno. Right after my solo walking, I delivered a 5-sentence speech in Filipino because the theme of the program was Filipino.."Ikinalulugod ko ang pagsali dito sa Ms. Red Cross dahil gusto kong makatulong sa mga kapos-palad..".. Right after my speech was the awarding ceremony. I was given the title, "Reyna ng Pagkakaisa" together with a crystal-studded tiara. Princess Diaries?!..Ü

Last Friday, Alfred and I were invited by my 5th Cousin Chio for a study group at his house. We had a great time! We ate Macaroni with corned beef, Cookies and Chocolate Crinkles for Merienda. Then we went to Chio's room to "study"..Ü We spent the whole time recording our "unique" voices. We pretended we were on-air. I was the DJ for our so-called radio station 96.3. We used Chio's recording mic the whole time while singing a couple of Michelle Branch (accompanied with Chio's guitar performance), Brian McKnight songs and Harana by PNE. Chio plays the guitar so well! Alfredo reminded me of Vaness Wu! F4!! Hehehehe!!

Last Saturday, I went to Tagaytay.
